CREATIVITY CONSULTING / COACHING

As Creativity Consultant / Coach I offer two services the DRAWING CONNECTIONS PROCESS and the CREATIVE STRENGTHS RECOGNITION PROCESS.
DRAWING CONNECTIONS PROCESS

With all the challenges that organizations are facing today, new and creative ways of working and learning together are needed. To address this need, I have created a new and unique visual - arts based method for designing a community of practice through the DRAWING CONNECTIONS PROCESS.

Working in direct collaboration with organizational stakeholders, the DRAWING CONNECTIONS PROCESS begins with a complimentary two - hour consultation. This consultation will provide me with an understanding of the issues and / or concerns facing the organization as it pertains to how people work and learn together. This consultation will also provide organizational stakeholders with the opportunity to determine the process format that works best for everyone. The identified organizational issues and process format will also inform the type of customized creative process and design thinking exercises I will use in the three components found in the DRAWING CONNECTIONS PROCESS.

Each of the three components, Visual Knowing, Visual Connections and Visual Effects serve a different function in the DRAWING CONNECTIONS PROCESS. In the first component, Visual Knowing organizational stakeholders examine and explore prior learning processes and future - learning needs. In the second component Visual Connections, stakeholders begin the process of collectively designing and developing the community of practice. The focus of the final component, Visual Effects is the development and implementation of an evaluation process to measure the success of the community of practice in meeting its objectives within the organization.

CREATIVE STRENGTHS RECOGNITION PROCESS

I believe that we are all creative in our own way. Despite this, many people have yet to recognize how their creativity manifests itself in the work they do. This is why the CREATIVE STRENGTHS RECOGNITION PROCESS is not just for artists or designers, but also for anyone who wants to realize their own creative strength and then how to integrate these creative strengths  into the work they do.

The CREATIVE STRENGTHS RECOGNITION PROCESS is a person – centred, art based process, which begins with a complimentary two - hour consultation process. This consultation will inform the three phases of the CREATIVE STRENGTHS RECOGNITION PROCESS, which is comprised of Creative Knowing, Creative Connections and Creative Effects. In the first phase Creative Knowing you will identify your creative strengths. During the second phase Creative Connections you will discover how to integrate these creative strengths into your respective professional practice. In the final phase Creative Effects you will be provided with the tools and methods for assessing your revised practice.

Each phase in the CREATIVE STRENGTHS RECOGNITION PROCESS is comprised of two sessions. In the first session, you will engage in and explore a variety of customized creative process exercises with the aid of guiding questions. Prior to the second session you will have the opportunity to reflect on how these creative process exercises will affect your professional practice through a series of reflective questions.

Here are the
CREATIVE STRENGTHS RECOGNITION PROCESSES designed for different practices and disciplines.
  • Creative Strengths Recognition Process for Educators
  • Creative Strengths Recognition Process for Community Support Workers
  • Creative Strengths Recognition Process for Resilience
  • Creative Strengths Recognition Process for Artists

Creative Strengths / Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition Process

The CREATIVE STRENGTHS / PRIOR LEARNING ASSESSMENT AND RECOGNITION PROCESS  combines the PLAR (Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition) process together with the Creative Strengths Recognition Process. Through a series of creative process and reflective exercises you will explore not just your past learnings, but also your creative strengths with the goal of enhancing what - ever practice you are engaged in. The CREATIVE STRENGTHS / PRIOR LEARNING ASSESSMENT AND RECOGNITION PROCESS utilizes the Creative Learning Design Framework as its foundation. The Creative Learning Design Framework is comprised of three components Visual / Creative Knowing, Visual / Creative Connections and Visual / Creative Effects. You will utilize visual / creative learning journals as a vehicle to simultaneously document your prior learning and creative strengths. These visual / creative learning journals can use a variety of mediums such as visual or graphic arts, sound, creative writing, and even video for this process.
The format for the CREATIVE STRENGTHS / PRIOR LEARNING ASSESSMENT AND RECOGNITION PROCESS is ten - weeks long with two hour sessions each week. Between each session there are exercises which will be completed in the Visual / Creative Learning Journal.

Below is my most recent visual / creative learning journal.
CREATIVE LEARNING DESIGN FRAMEWORK

The underlying framework for both the DRAWING CONNECTIONS PROCESS and the CREATIVE STRENGTHS RECOGNITION PROCESS is the Creative Learning Design Framework. The Creative Learning Design Framework is an arts based, learning design process. The Creative Learning Design Framework is comprised of three components, Visual / Creative Knowing, Visual / Creative Connections and Visual / Creative Effects. Each of the three components serves a different function; Visual / Creative Knowing explores prior learning programs and future-learning needs, Visual / Creative Connections begins the process of collectively shaping new learning programs and the focus of the Visual / Creative Effects component is the development of an evaluation process for the newly developed programs. Within each of the three components, visual art based creative process exercises are utilized. An important part of these creative process exercises are the guiding and reflective questions used in each component. The creative process exercises used in Creative Learning Design Framework vary depending on the subject or focus of the learning program or service being developed.
