Below are images from my own visual journal that I used to examine and review my own creative strengths. Through the CREATIVE STRENGTHS RECOGNITION PROCESS you can discover your creative strengths as you create your visual journal.

CREATIVE STRENGTHS RECOGNITION PROCESS
I believe that we are all creative in our own way. Despite this, many people have yet to recognize how their creativity manifests itself in the work they do. This is why the CREATIVE STRENGTHS RECOGNITION PROCESS is not just for artists or designers, but also for anyone who wants to realize their own creative strengths and talents and then how integrate these creative strengths and talents into the work they do. The CREATIVE STRENGTHS RECOGNITION PROCESS is a person – centred, visual arts based process, which begins with a complimentary two - hour consultation process. This consultation will inform the three phases of the CREATIVE STRENGTHS RECOGNITION PROCESS, Creative Knowing, Creative Connections and Creative Effects. Each of the three phases, serve a different function.
Each phase in the CREATIVE STRENGTHS RECOGNITION PROCESS is comprised of two sessions. In the first session, you will engage in and explore a variety of customized creative process exercises with the aid of guiding questions. Prior to the second session you will have the opportunity to reflect on how these creative process exercises will affect your professional practice through a series of reflective questions. Clients will be encouraged to use a visual journal to complete the creative process exercises and reflections. The visual journal can be paper based (journal, sketchbook) or can be digital (photo, video, blog). NOTE: The CREATIVE STRENGTHS RECOGNITION PROCESS can also be customized for Educators and Care Givers. NOTE: The CREATIVE STRENGTHS RECOGNITION PROCESS is not an art therapy program or service Below is a link to a visual journal that I recently completed. https://gerardmcneilbookprojects.weebly.com/home/new-project Although I created this body of work some eight years ago, I thought it was fitting during this difficult time as we self isolate. In Place, explores issues of location and permanence. The group of images presented here is comprised of a series of diptychs that uses hand drawn linocut maps juxtaposed to digital landscape images. The linocut maps reference the city block and community that I have lived in my entire life. The digital landscape images document the four corners of this city block that contains or holds this community together.
