The Visual Connections Program utilizes a new arts based community inclusion and learning framework called the Inclusion Studio Process. The Inclusion Studio Process is comprised of three components: Visual Knowing, Visual Connections and Visual Effects. As program participants navigate through each component, they will be provided an opportunity to explore different visual arts mediums through a series of open studio sessions. Participants will also discover new inclusive community arts activities and processes while at the same time-sharing their own lived experiences of working towards social inclusion. Once the participants have completed the Inclusion Studio Process, they will then move into a community to work on a community arts project as a community inclusion artist. With a diverse background in Community Arts and the Human Services Field I will provide support for each community inclusion artist for a specified amount of time.
It is my hope that I can partner with a community service provider who is looking for new opportunities for their clients or program participants. Funding for this program will come in part from pursuing government grants, and the majority of funding from crowd or source funding. I am fully prepared to write these grants with input and feedback from the organizational leadership. I have an extensive background in facilitating and managing community based education programs. As a result of this, I am able to collaboratively develop program budgets, create marketing plans, and facilitate program registration processes and evaluations. Whether working in the non - profit or private sector my commitment to championing the social inclusion of persons with disabilities has never waned.
